With the unusually hot dry period weve been experiencing of late our water usage has been very high. Last Sunday we used 150,000 gallons of water in one day, three times as much as is generally used in the wintertime. Juggernaut pond is beginning to show the strain of high usage and is now two feet below normal levels. To head off any problems with our supply, the water commissioners would like to request that townspeople help conserve water and offer these tips:
- Water only in the evening and early morning when it is cooler
- Dont leave sprinklers or other watering devices running all night
- Set your lawn mower to its highest setting to help prevent grass browning
- Use a timer on your sprinklers
- Switch to soaker hoses for watering gardens and plant beds.
Thank you for your cooperation in conserving our water.
