VPC Meeting Wed., March 26, 2008

Meeting commenced at 7:15. Present were Kurt Grassett, Jim Gamble, Mary Covington, Dennis Rossiter, John Jordon, Steve Pope, and Howard Mansfield (and Sally).

1. Wires Hearing. – Howard presented a review of timeline and decisions that led to Common project. There will be a hearing to for the town to accept the gift of the money to bury the wires on the Common: April 7, 7 p.m. Howard, Kurt and Mary will be present, all other members are encouraged to attend.

2. Quick Review:
A. School buses on the Common – Jim related that the Selectboard will discuss the proposal at a future meeting.
B. Follow-up to NHDOT meeting with Nancy Mayville – May 8, 2008 to discuss the proposed work to be accomplished on Main St (traffic calming, crosswalks, sidewalks, lighting – all safety related issues).
C. Appropriate lighting for Common & Meetinghouse – Howard asked John if he knew anything about lighting to emphasize the beauty of the Meetinghouse. John said he is well versed and will do some additional research and present some options to the VPC.
D. Drainage – Kurt will review the design on March 31 and hopefully work will commence in May.
E. Survey Follow-up – Dennis provided an excellent summary and reviewed it with the VPC. After much discussion, any surplus monies from the Todd survey were proposed to address deed discrepancies. Dennis will call Todd to discuss research rates.
F. Walkways southside – Cow path restoration will have to take place after the wires are dealt with.
G. Dennis will continue to monitor the tree replacement maintenance situation.
