Hancock Advisory Committee Meeting

8-25-08

Present: Ron Mack, Greg Lusted, Rich LeFebvre, Roberta LaPlante, Gail Hoffmann, Tom Ward, Laurie Bryan, Kurt Grassett

The Committee met with Kurt Grassett and went out to look at three roads that are coming up for major improvements.

Antrim Road from Delia Daniels driveway to Norway Hill Road

-           Issues are drainage, lack of good base in existing road, narrow width which is a safety/liability concern, ice build up and surface heaving in the winter. Cost for repairs is roughly estimated at $72,000

This is the top priority project due to road traffic use.

Prospect Hill – Ledge Road

-           Issues are extremely steep grade, lack of good base, ice buildup in the winter, safety in winter for residents and town trucks and operators.

This project is the 2nd priority road project.

Prospect Hill extension

-           Lack of good base, road is deteriorating

This is the 3rd priority project

Kurt is looking into several ways to resurface these roads to see if there is something more durable and/or less costly than the traditional 3Óof asphalt.

The next Advisory meeting will be Tuesday, September 23 at 6:30.

Respectfully Submitted,

Laurie Bryan
