Minutes of the Water Commission Meeting
February 22, 2012
Attending: Jeff Wilder, Kurt Grassett, Sean Kerwin, and Linda Coughlan, Recording Secretary
4:30 P.M. – The meeting began at 4:30.
Monthly Report/Charts –
Kurt gave the commissioners the January monthly report with charts for review. He said 1.1 million gallons had been used and nothing unusual had occurred during the month. After review, the commissioners signed off on the report. Kurt reminded the commissioners of the April 1st renewal date for chemical monitoring.
Kurt said he is still waiting to hear back from the State on the preliminary UV design report that has been submitted. He said he hopes to have the system in place in 2013 with the deadline being 2014. Kurt said it would be good if the system was up and running for at least 6 months before the deadline to work out any kinks.
Policy on Disconnect/Reconnect Fees –
Kurt said he had been called out on a Friday recently after normal working hours to disconnect a water line on Depot Road due to a plumber cracking a flared fitting. Since the call was not scheduled and was after normal hours, Kurt wanted to see how the commissioners felt about updating the disconnect policy. After discussion, they decided the fee for an unscheduled disconnection would be $100 with a required notice of 48 hours. Kurt will write up the policy for the commissioners to sign off on.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:00 P.M. The next meeting will be on March 28th at 4:30 P.M.
