Brian Beihl- to discuss the Antrim Wind Project
Meeting came to order at 7PM.
Tonight we had a guest speaker Brian Beihl to give us some information about the Antrim Wind Project and its potential impact on surrounding towns. Nahida Sherman was present to also add to the discussion and concerns in regard to impact of Wind Turbines on Hancock residents.
Presented were a variety of maps to indicate the potential visual and auditory impact of the Wind Turbines to be constructed in the town of Antrim. Also presented was a mock up picture of what the approximately 475 foot towers might look like from the boat launch at Willard pond. Taking into consideration that these will be on a ridgeline approx 1800 ft high the impact appeared to be substantial. More details of materials covered in presentation are available at www.antrimwind.org.
Roberta mentioned that the Select Board was already investigating what potential impact might be on Hancock residents. They are also looking for a representative to be available for future hearings to represent the interests of the Town and its residents. Besides potential Auditory and Visual impacts, the potential archeological and historical impacts were brought up as potential concerns for the town.
