Minutes of the Water Commission Meeting February 16th, 2010
Attending: Kurt Grassett, Sean Kerwin and Linda Coughlan, Recording Secretary
4:00 P.M. – Kurt called the meeting to order for Jeff Wilder who wasn't able to attend.
Minutes of 01/19/2010- The minutes of the January 19th meeting were accepted as written.
Monthly Reports - Kurt said since Jeff was not able to attend, the monthly reports would be reviewed at the March meeting.
UV Disinfection System – Kurt said he has applied for a grant under stimulus funding which if granted, could cover as much as 50% of the UV Disinfection System. He said if the application is granted, the project could be moved up to the end of 2010.
Past Due Balances on Water Rent – The Commissioners decided that for water customers that are way past due, notices will go out on March 1st giving them 30 days to get caught up or to provide a payment plan.
Water Rent Software - Kurt said the cost for the QuickBooks software is $1,247.50 for up to 200 customers and $5.00 for any over 200. The annual maintenance cost of $150 is per year.
Fees – Kurt made the suggestion that the Commissioners look at the fees this year since they haven't changed since the 1980's. He said they should also think about a setting up a capital improvement account for projects such as upgrading water hydrants.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4:35 P.M.
