Old Home Days CommitteeMeeting notes 2/27/2010
Present: From last year's committee: Nancy Daniels, Donna Geer, This year's committee: Monica Laskey-Rigrod, Megan Dodge, Paul Frehner
Two more members have stated willingness to join for 2010: Debra Shumway and Angie Ramston. We hope they will join us at the next meeting.
We thank last year's committee for all their help and support and we are happy to have Megan Dodge continue with us for her second year!
1) Engage all ages 2) Active involvement of the community 3) Stay within budget
HANCOCK HAS CHARACTER(s) 'Celebrating 150 years of the Hancock Town Library'
1) Use high school or middle school kids for community service activities during the day 2) No band on Friday night (schedule seems to be too full) 3) Organizing a soap box car race for families/kids to participate 4) Continue the library theme- possibly a book (connect with Cindy Amidon from the historical society 5) Include a charity focused element to raise money for a group in need in Hancock 6) Sell beach towels, T-shirts or hats 7) Organize one or a few street musicians 8) Ask Cindy Amidon re the possibility of a publication with the theme of 'Hancock Characters' to be published for 2010 The following tasks were handed out to be completed until next meeting:
Monica: - Contact Ken Sheldon for children's music
Megan: - will organize the Temple band for 2010 - will contact Martha Ritter to obtain last year's CD
Paul: - will contact JT Lawrence re; his band - will contact Vertical Dreams re; climbing wall
