HANCOCK HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION

Minutes March 23, 2010

Members Present: Roberta LaPlante, Glenda Lewis, Roberta Nylander

Also Attending: Ruth Wilder

Roberta LaPlante opened the meeting at 7:05 PM. She reported that Chair Robinson and Barbara Coffin did not wish to serve another term on the HHDC, and the Select Board will work to make appointments to the HHDC in the next few weeks. It was decided to postpone the election of a new chair and the reading of the January Minutes until the April meeting since only three members were in attendance. She then reported that she had checked with LGC and verified that the Select Board representative is a full voting member of HHDC. She noted that Chair Robinson had also contacted the LGC as requested at the January meeting. He has forwarded the results of his inquiries to HHDC members, which will also be reviewed at our April meeting.

LaPlante and Nylander reported that they had checked with Linda Coughlin in regard to the record keeping of property owners and learned that she used map and lot numbers rather than owners names to record information. They also had inspected the past records of applications, decisions and other business of the HHDC that are located in the basement storage room. Then Nylander made a file for each lot in the Historic District, using Map and lot number and address, and sorted and refiled those records using those headings. These records will continue to be located in the basement storage room.

Finally, LaPlante indicated that the Select Board had taken no action in regard to Chair Robinson's presentation about the fence and plantings at 15 Main Street during the winter. She will check to see their intentions in regard to this matter and report at the April meeting.

Respectfully submitted,

Roberta D. Nylander

Secretary HHDC
