Conservation Commission Meeting

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Attending:

Doug Payne

Charlie Kerwin

Eric Masterson

Marc DeBanico

Roberta LaPlante, Select Board Representative

Carol Andrews, NHACC

Warren Sponsler, Contoocook and North Branch Rivers Local Advisory Committee

Meeting started at 6:30PM

Carol Andrews, Executive Director for The New Hampshire Association of Conservation Commissions attended to provide training for the new commissioners.

Carol provided a great resource list for new commissioners and encouraged us to engage her for any questions we might have.

One question Carol had was: Does the Town of Hancock manage any town forests?

If we did or wanted to create a Town Forest we would need to include in town budget or warrant article at Town Meeting.

Expenses around Town forest would include money spent on trails and surveys.

Warren spoke at 7:45PM regarding the Updated River Management Plan for the Contoocook River and encouraged people to attend a public meeting on Wednesday November 17th at 7:00PM at the Monadnock Paper Mill.

A discussion was had regarding the balance of easements that needed to be walked and it was agreed that they would be divided up in order to work towards finishing before the end of the year.

Meeting adjourned at 8:26 PM

The next meeting of the Commission will be on Tuesday, December 14, 7:00p.m. at the Town Hall, in the small conference room.
