VPC Meeting Wed., July 18, 2007

 

The meeting commenced at 7 pm with Howard Mansfield, Tom Pisturo, Mike

Fallon, Jim Gamble, and Steve Pope present.

 

AGENDA:

 

1.  Drainage update. – Kurt related via Howard that the drainage would

commence later than expected as the recent rainstorms have caused

much damage.

2.  TCSP  earmark news – Mary sent word that there was no new

information regarding  governmental funding.

3.  Tree work report – Howard said that Dan Tremblay of Broad Oak has

scheduled late Summer/early Fall for commencing tree work on the trees

noted for work. Also Dennis provided, via email, price quotations for new trees.

4. Ground survey results – Kurt sent word that there were a few

unresolved issues but the survey should be complete by the end of

July.

5.  Future action to be based on survey and TCSP status:

* Walkways/paths (South side) -- Reestablish path after survey.

Procedure: notifying abutters, HDC, etc. of the results of the survey.

Work is estimated be scheduled for next year

*Streetlights – Howard spoke with Keith Akerley who gave him two

contacts who could design and cost out electric lighting and

infrastructure. Tom will research this as well as looking into funding.

* Sidewalks (North side) - If TCSP is a “No” we may apply for Safe

Routes to School. (SRTS) program of the NH DOT.

* Common Edges – work with the Common Commission to keep the town

common from eroding into the street, and on path alignment with the

crosswalk. Tom suggested that the Hancock Fire Dept be involved as they

use the Common on Old Home Day.

 * Welcome/Drive Slow signs – The VPC will bring this to the Selectboard for action.
