VPC Meeting Wed., June 6, 7 pm, Daniels Room
The meeting
commenced at 7 pm. Present were Howard Mansfield, Tom Pisaturo, Kurt
Grassett, Jim Gamble, Dennis Rossiter, Mary Covington, and Steve Pope.
AGENDA:
1. Drainage update. – Kurt
hopes that by September there should be a finalized design for drainage with
work commencing in 2008. Also the
preliminary data collection for the survey has been completed and it is
continuing on schedule, possibly by the end of July.
2. TCSP – Mary related that
our representatives have written letters of support for the grant. Kurt has
heard that we should not expect any decision until August.
3. Street Edges – Search for
antique granite – Howard has only had limited success but continues to look.
4. Tree work – Dennis
presented a proposal by Broad Oak which covered work for trees which need work.
There are questions regarding some trees, which may or may not be on town
land. The total for trimming and pruning
of trees known to be on town land will be around $1700.
Removal of
some other trees are pending the results of the survey.
Replacement trees were also
discussed but numbers are pending the survey results.
5. New business. Looking forward, work on the the following items will commence post-survey and decision
on the TCSP (yes or no):
n Street lights – Apply to
MCLF for design money in Sept.
n Sidewalks (North side)--
Safe Routes to School. (SRTS) NH DOT to start accepting applications in late
May.
n Walkways/paths (South side)
-- Reestablish path after survey.
Procedure: notifying
abutters, HDC, etc.
n Meeting with NHDOT
n Common Edges – Charrette (design workshop)
n Welcome/Drive Slow signs –
Selectboard: design, size, wording, sponsorship.
