Old Dublin Road
Road washout on October 8 & 9 - 7.39 inches of rain
And again on October 15 & 16 - 4.25 inches of rain

Old Dublin Road fared pretty well in the first rain event, but like Verney Road , once the second event came, the ground was so saturated that it could not hold the runoff. The picture above left is just beyond the King’s Highway Intersection. A large stone culvert was unable to handle the runoff and caused the road to wash out. Above right is a picture of the hill below Mr. Merrill’s house (at the intersection of Jaquith Road ). This hill has washed many times before, one of the mitigation grants we received was to build up this section of road and stone line the ditch to prevent this from happening again.

This picture to the right shows the culvert at the bottom of this hill, looking back toward Jaquith Road . This culvert was unable to handle the runoff out of the woods and it overtopped. Only minimal damage was done, but for anyone who has seen this culvert, it must have been an awful lot of water.
The total damage done to Old Dublin Road was $10,992.00. We also received $5,385.00 in mitigation funds to fix the hill by Jaquith Road .
