Dump Rules for Clean Wood & Brush

In the interest of assisting the residents with the enormous task of cleaning up after the Ice Storm we had been allowing loads of brush to come into the dump whenever they were open. Unfortunately we had a few people that did not follow the rules of clean wood and brush and nothing under 5-inches in diameter. There was enough contamination that it took two men from the public works department to separate the contaminates out before burning the clean material. The State of NH has already given us one warning when they found contaminants in the burn pile a few years ago, the next time they find contaminants there is a good chance they will close the burn pile, and it could be permanently. In an attempt to make sure we remain compliant with the laws and rules of NH DES we have switched the burn pile back to the hours of Monday 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Use of the burn pile outside of these hours is prohibited.
